Greetings guys.To begin with,I think im kind of sad now :/... I just bought the rx 480 4gb to pair with the ryzen 1600x and although I can max out every game in 1080p 60+ fps,I recently saw some videos that showed the gtx 1060 is faster than rx 480. Those videos/benchmarks are 1 year old and I dont know if I made a good choice here now in 2017....Keep in mind I play demanding games and that's why im concered now if that card was rather a mistake.
Please enlighten me,because I could get gtx 1060 3gb for the same price as rx 480 4gb.Did I make a terrible choice?Which card would be more futureproof? Thanks for reading!

Solution
1060 used to beat 480 till like 5 6 months ago. But as AMD drivers for this card matured, the difference dissipated.

1060 3GB vs RX 480 4GB ----- 480 wins by a good margin cumulatively. Of course in some games (GTA V e.g.) it will perform slightly worse and in some games (e.g. DOOM vulkan, DX 12 games), it will win. The choice really comes down to what games we play
1060 6GB v RX 480 8GB ------- Same argument as above holds

Also, remember, 1060 3GB has lesser CUDA cores than 1060 6GB. So, the difference is not just in the amount of VRAM, but in compute also.

I would say you made an excellent choice. Enjoy your rig mate. ;)
