Hello Guys,

I am currently running windows 8 on my HDD and have a few misc. things on my SSD. I was looking into methods to transfer my OS over to the SSD. Currently, my HDD install has been plagued with numerous performance issues while gaming, and even when performing more simple tasks at times. I figure it's time to wipe everything and start new, as it has been many years since my last clean install (2012 lol).

I have lost both my windows disks, and as far as I understand it, using a keyfinder and downloading a windows installer from Microsoft is all I will need. There is also around 70gb of information I am looking to maintain after the transfer. Is this the best method for performing the new install
1. Download windows installer from Microsoft's website onto a USB or DVD
2. Boot using USB/DVD, format the SSD and install windows onto it using a written down key from the keyfinder software.
3. Boot fresh install of windows on SSD, transfer 70gb of files I wanted to keep and then format HDD

I will not be backing up the 70gb on any other drives, because I have no other drives on hand and merely a handful of 8gb dvds. Also, will having two drives with windows installs sharing the same key cause issues, because I'm assuming Microsoft has safeguards against doing so. Obviously I plan on wiping out the old install once things are running from the SSD, but I still need to transfer over those files before doing so. Any solutions?
