My HD Makes Whirring noise on startup

So basically anytime I turn my PC on, I get a high pitched screah from my HDD, for approximately 4 seconds then it stops. It also makes a little screach when it turns off, but not when the PC is running, only on start up and turn off. It's a Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 7200RPM. How do I fix this?

For a drive with physical issues (new screeching noises), you don't "fix it".
Instead, you treat that drive as suspect, and consider your backup situation.
