This is a good build. For gaming the new i5 8400 is a really great cpu. http://www.pcgamer.com/intel-i5-8400-review-the-best-new-gaming-cpu-in-years/

I would stay away from amd for gaming. Nvidia just seems to work better and the 1060 is a beast for 1080p. Look at the many benchmarks online. Drivers are better as well.
I left an ssd off the list but I would add one when ever you can afford it.

The RX 480 was a great card for its price range when it cost a decent amount less than the GTX 1060, but the price of AMD's cards rose significantly since earlier this year due to them being good for cryptocurrency mining, resulting in a shortage. As such, their prices have not been as competitive against nvidia's cards in recent months. If the RX 480 is priced similar to or more than a GTX 1060 6GB, then the 1060 would likely be the better option.

And for a gaming system with a budget of $1500, you can most likely fit in a better card than either a GTX 1060, or an RX 480 or 580. Either a GTX 1070, or maybe even a GTX 1080 could likely fit into that price range.

If you want to go absolutely all out in performance you could get something like this. Might be worth it to drop down to a 1080 and get a bigger SSD and a better cpu cooler though.

Came under budget, I like doing bang for the buck builds. There is enough funds in there to improve on areas where you feel the need to. Case is cheap but with good cooling potential and includes several fans, I would just remove the fan filters in there as their a pain to get to when it comes to cleaning them.
