I had a lenovo h520s with an I7-3770. i wanted to make it better for gaming so i bought a new, bigger case and a new psu (450W) as well as the MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GAMING X. after putting everything together i can't get the card to work. With my monitor plugged into the new card i get a black screen that says lenovo for about 20 seconds and then a pure black screen after that. If i disconnect the gpu and use onboard graphics I have no problems. My motherboard is an ECS H61H2-m2. I've read that updating bios is an option, but lenovo doesn't have any bios updates. Do i need to buy a new mobo?? or is there some super simple fix I'm too stupid to figure out? P.S device manager doesn't recognize it when i have installed but use the motherboards graphics

Many OEM PCs only allow limited upgrades. It is not unusual that putting a new model video card in an old model OEM PC doesn't work. I would recommend you not trying to do such an upgrade before anyone else does it. If you can find someone who has successfully made such an upgrade then you will have a good chance of success.

You may be better off getting a late model retail box motherboard not an OEM motherboard. Some video cards have issues working with old motherboards that have a legacy BIOS and not the newer UEFI style BIOS.
