As the title says, I am interested in buying the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X (New, not used), but the thing is, I am a complete noob/scrub/ignorant when it comes to smartphones.

Also, (and this may surprise you) this will be the first time I'll actually own a smartphone. Yes its strange, unusual, whatever. After you are finished making fun of me (which is fine and perfectly acceptable), can you give me your honest opinions?

The problem is, that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X looks really good on paper. And I mean really REALLY great! Where other brands (Samsung, Sony, etc) offer a quad-core (4 cores) CPU with 2 or 3 GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of Storage, Xiaomi offers a deca-core (10 cores) CPU with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Storage, all for just under 200 Euros (197 E).

It seems like an amazing deal, but the thing is, Xiaomi arent exactly.....Samsung or Apple, if you know what I mean. From what I've gathered, Made in China, cheaply made, and I am worried that it might also feel cheap and have issues as well.

To make matters worse, there are so many variations of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X, that its almost impossible to choose from!

For example:
Do I need a 64 or a 32 GB version?
Do I get the Mediatek or the Snapdragon version? (I know the Mediatek is 10-core, and that its supposedly faster, but also heats up more and uses more battery)
Do I get the Note 4 High Edition, or the 4x?
- What the hell Xiaomi, throw me a bone! I simply cant choose from all of this, its so confusing!!!

Anyway, here it is:
1. My budget is very limited. 200 Euros max, and I live in Greece.
2. I will mainly be playing games on the smartphone, listening to music (often while playing games), and of course the standard web-browsing, reading Tom's articles, etc
3. I intend to keep the phone for a loooong time. This isnt just me casually buying this, money is short, and I wont be able to just buy a new phone in a couple of months if this one turns out to be disappointing.

So what are your thoughts?
I am looking for opinions on the Xiaomi, as well as advice and opinions about other phones as well.
Is the Xiaomi a poor choice?
If you are an owner of a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X, I especially want to hear your opinion on it.

Thank you

Its hard to determine whether you would like a phone because there are a lot of factors that attribute to ease of use. Its not just the specs on paper. An iPhone with 1Gb RAM could feel smoother than an android with 4. Personal preference plays a big part so its best to try the phone befote buying

Perhaps I need to consider smartphones I can try in stores then.
Will probably be Samsung or some other popular brand.
Definitely not an iPhone though, they are way too expensive.

You get a huge amount for your money with the xaiomi - that is 100% certain.

I know a couple of people who own the older non-x model

They're happy , build quality is not an issue at all , they're very very well made.

With a €200 budget , if you can get these from within Greece without paying import duty etc

The power 2 is just a sterling phone full stop , excellent build quality , fast charging, good specs, a battery that can last 2 days of decent use.

I've had the original ulefone power for 2 years & it still works as well as the day I bought it.

Unfortunately, the Ulefone Power 2 is only available for under 200 E from stores that are out of the country, and I cant (dont want to) buy from these stores. I will only buy from a store that has a physical store within my province (Attiki).
This is solely so I can actually return it myself without having to pay shipping fees and having to wait longer for it to be sent back and then the replacement delivered to me, etc.

Anyway, I am glad to hear that the Xiaomi I am looking to buy seems to be a good phone, but I'd also love to hear some criticism of it (its bound to have cons).

Thank you for your response
