new custom water loop with CPU running a little high

Hi there guys, first time posting. But I just finished building a custom water look with a new case and all for my PC. I have an i7 6800, titan x graphics card.

I made a custom water look to run from my pump/reservoir through my GPU, then through my CPU and then through my radiator before returning home to the reservoir.

I have a big radiator that takes the whole top of the case. I have the radiator mounted at the top with the fans underneath it blowing air out through the radiator. The radiator has 3 140mm fans on it.

I have only just powered it on now for a bit and sitting here using just windows the temperatures are around 70degrees for my CPU but my GPU is at 28 degrees. Is something not right here? is it running to hot for my CPU?

When I put the water block onto the cpu I put a small dot of it in the middle, have I maybe not used enough?

I have no idea how to drain the system either, there is no drain port on the pump, but I have an idea of it though so If I need to drain and refill to fix it then I will but I just need guidance on if I have done anything wrong yet before I do.

THanks all

OK fixed. I just checked to see if thermal paste was enough on CPU. Found the plastic sticker still on hahahahahaha you can all make fun of me now. What a stupid moment

Thanks all for your help

Your loop would seem to suggest you'd benefit from cpu -> gpu-> radiator order rather than the way you have it currently. But I would expect temps to be a little closer. That seems rather an extreme difference.

It might be...if you put very very little. But usually people err on the side of too much rather than too little. You can re-mount and check if it's simple enough to do? But with custom liquid loops I don't see it being simple hmmm

check the seating of your cpu coolingblock and check pump speed, the order of your parts only gives a couple of degrees difference, neglectable. sure hope you used soft tubing, mabe you can reseat is filled then.

^ happens to all of us. was going to ask if you removed the protective film :)
As side notes:
components order in the loop does not matter. due to the liquid moving at great speed through the loop the difference between hottest and coldest point in the loop is usually within 1C.
amount of thermal paste supposed to be small. it should just fill the gaps between the IHS and coldplate. putting too much will give worse results as the thermal conductivity of the best thermal paste is much lower than metal.
