Best GPU for Under $300?

Currently just running a regular 1080 monitor w/ IPS, nothing special.

Games i play...
Dota2
Witcher 3
Skyrim
Diablo 3
not sure what i'll get into in the future...

the gtx950 seems to handle all these games fine right now.

I have a ryzen 5 1400, i would like to get a slightly better GPU in order to get more out of my processor.... maybe run a VR headset down the road. Not so much for running triple A games on VR but more so as a gimmick to show friends and family who have never seen/experienced this technology.

ill probably end up with a 580 or 1060 based on whatever looks cooler to me hahhhhh...sounds like theyre pretty comparable and the only thing i like about the gtx is lower power consumption.
