Hello everyone-

I have a Lenovo Thinkcentre 7099U2U that I recently installed an SSD, MSI Gt 610, and 8GB of RAM into. However, with these upgrades, (in the above order) the system won't post after the RAM upgrade. I have booted the system and tested it for a few days with the prior upgrades, but no luck in terms of the RAM. The computer boots, fans spin, etc. but there is no post, nothing on the screen at all, even if I try the integrated graphics with no addon cards or GPU. The memory that I installed is Kingston PC3L-12800U, 1x8GB. I would really like to get this issue resolved, as this is currently my only working desktop computer. (sending this from the Thinkcentre with the original RAM)
Thanks all!
-Sam

Not just that but the 4GB stick must have 16 chips on it. Intel chipsets for Core 2 only support 2Gbit chips, so 2Gbit x 16 = 4GBytes

Such extremely low density RAM has not been manufactured in many years, so you nearly always have to get it used. Today, "low density" usually refers to 4Gbit chips for Sandy Bridge/Ivy Bridge and that won't work.

That's a little more expensive than what I was looking at. I will buy it used. Thanks alot for the reply though, it's really helpful!
