I have a pc upstairs in my house quite far from the router so I'm wondering how I can get Ethernet upstairs. I have tried power line adapters but they are way too slow for gaming. Is there any way of getting a router upstairs that connects to the wifi and I can attach Ethernet to that? Thanks

Solution
Which model powerline adapters did you try? The newest standard AV2 models usually have good performance. But that is dependent on the house wiring. If your WIFI is poor connected to your PC, having a WIFI bridge connected probably won't improve anything. Paying a professional to run an ethernet cable is the best answer.

In order for WiFi Ethernet bridge to work, you will have to know how good is WiFi at the place you want to put the bridge at. Bring a laptop upstairs, connect it to WiFi, and see how's the performance. If it is not good, you can put the bridge somewhere else with good WiFi coverage, and run (long) Ethernet cable to your PC.
