Hello folks i am planning my next rig and i do a lot of gpu rendering for work
this means that i plan to start with 2 GPUs and add a third in one year.
ill have an air cooled threadripper with a noctua cooler most probably

do you guys think it would be ok to go with a mid tower? id like to keep it a bit more compact but i dont know if the heat dissipation will be enough with three gpus

Solution
2 in a mid tower is pushing cooling on air to the noise limit.
3 will have them spaced very close together and restrict air flow and heat exchange.

I have ran many 2 card setups in mid tower cases for folding, Which pegs the video card at 100% load. Dealing with the heat generated in a mid tower means moving lots of air to keep things cool.

There are a few E-ATX boards with good 3 card spacing for video cards , but few mid tower cases that has room to fit them. And has enough rear fan placements for cooling.

3 cards in a small case will be a noise/heat battle.
