molex to 4pin OR molex to 1x sata and then 2x sata to 4pin

ok so I have a PSU that has 1x24pin, 1x4pin, 1x SATA, 1x4pin molex.
My Mainboard needs 1x24pin and 1x8pin for cpu. but the PSU only has 1x4pin so i need an adapter in order to get another 4pin so i have 8pin in total.

Now i got 2 options:
1) i just use a 4pin molex to a 4pin adapter
2) I use a 4pin molex to a SATA adapter. Then i use BOTH SATA cables to make a 4pin with an adapter.

Now i dont know how much the 4pin for the CPU needs and i dont know what option will give the right amount of power. I also dont need any SATA cables since I'll be using the M.2 Slot.
And I wont be using any other powersupply since this is the perfect sice for what i need so please dont tell me to buy another psu.
Hope anyone knows the answer :/

It is possible to run a lower end computer without an overclock with just the 4pin connector hooked up. Motherboards place the 8pin there to ensure that ALL system configurations are able to run safely. I don't recommend using an adapter as neither the 4pin or sata power cables are rated to drive the 140W+ that the last 4pins on the EPS power cable are rated to draw from the PSU. (192(4pin)/336(8pin)).

Your needs though are dependent on the specs of your system though so if your system won't need the power from those last 4 pins you might be able to safely use it without, but determining that will be based on your system specs.

BTW
SATA -> 54 Watt MAX
4pin Molex -> 60 Watt MAX

(you would need 3 Molex or SATA connectors to drive...

Yeah u were right 4Pin does work. I'm giving my mainboard(Z-170A) and my CPU(i5-6400) to my dad. After removing my gtx980ti and removing 2 case fans the system did boot with only 4 pins. and since its a 6400 it doesnt overclock or take a lot power. Thanks a lot!
