I'm having problems with a usb flash drive,
when I copy many small files,
the copying lags/hats for a while and then continues,
only to lag again and again..

This was supposed to be a usb 3.0 flash drive,
but I didn't manage to use it that way,
I get delayed write failed when I use it in that port
(I don't have problems with my other two usb flash drives though),
so, I'm using it in usb 2.0 port,
but it's causing problems there too,

is there any way to fix the lagging problem?

or should I send it back (it would be the 2nd time returning a kingston usb for the same buy!),
but it this case I don't know if they will be "convinced" it's broken,
my previous one became "read-only"!

Thanks in advance

it's a micro duo, like this one:

I've had same problems with another in the past which was micro usb insted of type c on the other end,
anyway, I face similar problems to another pc/laptop, sure,
sometimes I get an error too, this one:
The driver detected a controller error on \\Device\\Harddisk1\\DR4

but I don't think the laptop/desktop is faulty respectively,
because I don't have same issues with another usb and
I this specific usb is having same problems in both laptop and desktop

is there any chance a format will fix it?
I haven't done it yet, because I don't think it will get fixed and
on the other hand, if it doesn't fix it,
it will take forever to copy my millions of small files back to it :(

I think it's still on warranty, maybe I should call and ask them

thanks but as I said I don't think there's an/any issue with my usb3 drivers because
1) there isn't a problem with other usb sticks
2) the possibility that in both laptop and desktop the drivers are faulty is minor

yes, I know, bad buy, considering especially that I don't have a type-c port!
the problem is that it was awfully slow in usb 2.0 as well and
it even halted for some seconds in every operation!

I've already ordered sandisk extreme, which writes at 200mb/s, to replace it,
in the meantime I suggested the shop that I should buy something else,
I'm tired of replacing bad kingston usb sticks,
I've had enough of them...

1) USB sticks can have problems with older drivers or older BIOS versions. Other USB sticks can work better than others.
2) possibility low, but possible

If you don´t have a type C-port, how did you connect it to your PC and laptop? Maybe faulty adapter or cable?
