Which Motherboard should I get?

So I'm just about ready to start ordering parts for my ryzen build, ill be getting either a 1700, 1700x, or 1800x, depending on my budget in the next month (decided not to go with a 7800x just because of the expense), I don't plan on doing a lot of overclocking, but I might dabble in it a little, not really sure yet.
(Yes, I know the 1800x is just an overclocked 1700, I know this, but If I don't plan on overclocking I would like the clock speed to be higher on its own rather than me having to play with bios and risk burning something out.)

The two motherboards I am looking at are ASRock Fatal1ty X370 Professional Gaming vs ASRock Taichi

From what it looks like the Fatal1ty is just a beefed up Taichi but I don't know the preformance differenses in things like gaming, and workstation related tasks, I don't plan on setting up a 2 way sli but it might happen in the future

Thanks

As far as I know that depends on the software packages/suites and engines you use for 3D design and rendering. Some of the benefit from the processing powers of GPUs in rendering and multiple GPUs are beneficial in that regard.

If the software and engine you'll use are CPU-bound (many of them) having a multi-GPU setup will not play much of a role in terms of 3D design and rendering. Some 3D renderers use GPUs, two I know is V-ray and Octane.
AsRock's Fatal1ty X370 Professional Gaming and X370 Taichi are practically the same. Only difference is that the former has Dual LAN (using ACQ108 + I211AT), has Power and Reset Buttons at midboard, and has a Red+Black Theme. All other features (Power Phases/VRMs/Cooling, number of ports, audio, etc.) are similar. Both are top-of-the-line mobos and offer extreme/enthusiast performance on an AMD Ryzen platform.

For an additional detailed comparison, you may want to check these tables: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3502839/am4-motherboard-amd-ryzen-cpu-specs-comparison-list.html

And dual LAN will be faster I asssume? So basically there the same board just the Fatal1ty has a few more additions to it than the taichi? And if its red/black ill probably get it anyway because I want my build to be a red/black build, thank you

No offense but seems like you've not really made up your mind. You might get one of 3 CPUS, you might overclock later and you might plan a SLI. These are major factors when it comes to choosing motherboards.

Also you should have the SLI option in mind when you want to pick your PSU as two graphic cards make a big difference in terms of power draw.

Also your storage requirements (SATA, M.2 ... ports) play a part if you have several drives. Those two motherboards are somehow similar. They both have good VRM and good capacitors.

However, the Taichi has more SATA ports (8 through chipset + 2 through AsMedia chip) and has built-in WiFi and bluetooth module which can come in handy apart from the LAN adapters.

Taichi also rocks ASRock Hyper BCLK Engine II which can improve overclocking (which you said you plan to try)

^-- AsRock Fatal1ty Professional Gaming also has the same number of SATA ports (8 + 2 = 10), has Wi-Fi/Bluetooth (Intel 802.11ac), and AsRock Hyper BCLK Engine II, like the Taichi. https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/Fatal1ty%20X370%20Professional%20Gaming/index.us.asp#Specification

Dual LAN has many purposes (not necessarily means "faster"), as it depends on how you will use such LAN ports, and the limitations of your ISP / local network setup. Here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/186421-30-what-point-dual-ethernet

Yes I know I'm very picky, expecially with the current CPU market with the way it is, not really worried about sata ports because I'm not going to fill them all up, I want only 1 or 2 SSD's with my pc, the sli wont happen for a while, so ill worry about that when I get there, and overclocking is something I want to dabble in, not really become an expert of, (meaning I probably wont do it a lot) something I have had a worry about is Bluetooth, My system is setup in my front room so I would like to be able to setup a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo so I don't have out worry about my animals ripping stuff out of the USB ports

Yes raisonjohn is right about SATA ports, I was looking at Fatal1ty X370 Gaming K4, my bad, I'm sorry.

Ok the SLI will happen in future, just have the power requirements in mind and also something from experience: It's better to do SLI in one go because availability of the same card in future might be an issue. And that the gains as far as gaming go are not that big because many games don't have multi-GPU support.

The only reason I was thinking about a sli is because I am using this for than just gaming, its also going to be my workstation that I program and 3d design with, So i was thinking a sli so I wouldn't have to worry about any preformance issues when it comes to things like that, although I'm not quite sure what benefits sli has to a workstation
