My other has started gaming and is wanting her own PC so planning on passing down my current setup which is still pretty decent especially for the type of game she plays (Intel Core i7 2600k @ 4.5GHz, 16GB RAM, 960GB SSD, AMD RX580 8GB)

So im doing a new build for myself as il be paying. Not going crazy but planning on going with the Intel Core i7 7700k as its down to £270ish now. (I know coffee lake just come out but the i7

Can anyone recommend a decent motherboard for this for around £80 mark? I will plan to overclock in the future and potentially to do the AMD crossfire later too.

For overclocking and multi-GPU support, you'll need a Z270 series motherboard. And with your budget of £80, your options are severely limited. But if I was in your budget range, this MSI board for £88 would definitely be my pick.

^^That's a UK link, so not sure where you are in Europe. You'd have to change the nation in NewEgg's drop down menu at the top.

Regarding multi-GPU support as a side note, I'd recommend against it. Both SLI and Crossfire are dying in support by game developers drip by drip (either poor scaling or no official support at all). You can thank the consoles for that as developers have shifted to console development first and then back porting to PC. Multi-GPU support increasingly appears to be an afterthought these days, at best. Big waste of money on two GPUs vs. one faster GPU in getting your money's worth these days out of graphics power.

Most any Z270 based motherboard will do the job.
I don't know that your budget of £80 will find one.
I would not include cf/sli capability as one of my selection criteria.
A single great card will game better and avoid dual gpu issues such as screen tearing, stuttering and non support.
If you avoid cf/sli, there are some very good M-ATX motherboards available reasonably priced.

If you are in a hurry, I7-7700K is very good. But I5-8600K will perform equally well for gaming.
Some Z370 motherboards are reasonably priced.
