Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Windforce OC 4G
Gigabyte GA-H81M-HD3
Intel Core i7-4770
600 watt psu
windows 10 pro

Nothing overclocked

My problem:
sometimes when i boot my pc, my screen gives the message: 'dvi-d no signal'.
but other times when i boot, the pc runs just fine.

The weird thing is, when i have the no signal message, windows does boot, i can hear all kinds of windows noises like USB connection.

I have tried all kinds of things like
- connecting the dvi cable to the motherboard (this sometimes works, but sometimes doesnt)
- clearing cmos
- changing ram position
- changing screens, and cables (also tested HDMI)
- checking psu voltages

i have this card for less than a year.

Another weird thing is that my monitor gives a different message when when the dvi cable is out, so when the dvi is plugged in to my gpu, it says : 'dvi-d no signal', but when i take the dvi cable out of my gpu, it says: 'no signal, please check your connection'.

To recap, when i press the power button, i see nothing happen. Not even the motherboard logo. after a few seconds, i can hear windows running (USB noises, RGB keyboard starts the animations, etc).

Any help would be appreciated.

Solution

WITH GPU still installed? That would mean sometimes your GPU is not seen by BIOS. Which could be caused by either motherboard slot fault, or GPU itself. Remove GPU and clean PCIe slot with compressed air.

That's not weird, that's 100% normal and expected behavior.

The cable and the motherboard are both working right now. But if i recall correctly, the motherboard doesn't always give a signal to the monitor.

I have had this motherboard for 2 to 3 years and it came in a prebuilt system. So i don't think i can return it.
