Hi all,

Ill cut to the chase, i have been having anti surge issues the last few days. Basically the problem occurred when playing witcher 3, it would crash to the anti surge message "unstable power supply". They started few and far between now it is when ever i load any game. Sometimes it happens when on youtube.

After doing someone googling i found out that many consider the ASUS motherboard to have a sensitive anti surge, so people suggest disabling it. Which i eventually did. I continued to play witcher when disaster struck, the computer had crashed again. This time on reboot after the bios it was just a black screen with distorted lines. I though "****" there goes my video card. I tried rebooting again and again with nothing and as a last solution i just tried unplugging and plugging back in the card. Believe it or not it worked! I was so sure i had killed my card.

I tuned back on anti surge, loaded withcer 3 and it worked for about ten mins and then crashed. So back to square one.

My question is what do you think is causing the anti surge? Is it safe to disable it? And what do you think happened to my graphics card, is there a chance i damaged it?

Specs:
16gb gskill ram
1060 6gb GTX card
EVGA 750 G2 80 plus gold edition
ASUS z170 pro gaming
i5 6600k 3.5

Im a complete noob at this so any help woud be greatly apprecaited.

Thanks in advance

Im not sure, how would i find out? I assumed maybe the issue was graphics card related since the crash happened after disabling anti surge also, and with the whole black screen thing. Or is that a separate issue altogether
