Hello there! Since im using this PC for office work and that shit, i sometimes want to play a game. I can run older games like: Mafia 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Project Reality ... I have an Dell Optiplex 380 with the Intel Pentium Dual Core e5800, 4 GB Ram, and a Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT. I was wondering, would the Nvidia GT 1030 work on it? Of course, i dont want to play GTA 5 on Max Settings, or Watch Dogs 2, i just want to play games that are 2-3 years old. So please reply ! (Btw. i've seen people running the Nvidia GT 1030 on Dell Optiplex 780, with Dual Core proccesors like Pentium E5200 and 4 GBs of RAM)

Solution
Should be fine. Just be sure to get a single slot card whose cooler doesn't protrude out too far. It may hit the IO connector close to the PCIe slot.

I found one that's 2 GB DDR5 for around 80 euros, and the low profile for 70euros, and my PC is not SFF. What do you think i should get?
And 1 more question, this LG Flatron L1919s is 1280x1024 (Will the Gt 1030 support that resolution?) and its VGA only, so i should buy an adapter DVI to VGA? Its around 2 euros only.

The GPU uses RAM adresses from the top down to store textures. A 2GB GPU will use 2GB RAM for this leaving very little for the OS, or any games. if you have a 32BIT OS and 4GB RAM a 1GB GPU is about the limit. There were 1GB GTX750s. if you start seeing the HDD light thrashing, and system slowdown low RAM is the cause.
