Hi, I am looking to upgrade my PC. These are my current specs. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/cLsgVY

You may have noticed that I have no GPU. Thats because i recently sold my 1050 Ti to CEX for a £115 voucher. Right now, cex sell i7 6700s for £165, and I think I could sell my 6600k for around £175. I would then buy a i7-6700, leaving me with £125. With this money, I could manage to get a used gtx 970, which is about an RX 470 or gtx 1060 3gb, give or take 10% performance difference. I have considered upgrading my GPU by cex, but they have their 970s priced at £190 and the RX are ridiculously priced anyway- more expensive at cex than at amazon. I play e-sport titles like overwatch, pubg, CS:GO, but im considering getting rise of the tomb raider. I would happily play this at high settings so long as i get 60fps. I have a 1080p60 monitor, overclocked to 1080p74. I do not believe that there is anything wrong with overclocking GPUs, so I would do that too. In ordinary circumstamces, I wouldn’t bother with cpu upgrades, but i feel like the unlocked K model is being wasted cuz i have a h110. This is what i plan to upgrade to. Plus, now that coffee lake and all is coming out, im sort of annoyed that the 8100 is outperforming my 6600k stock, so I want more threads! This is what i plan to do:

Any better options, i’d love to be enlightened. Let me know- thanks.

Replacing a I5-6600k with a I7-6700 is a sideways move for a gamer.
The single thread performance is the same.
You gain extra threads, but most games can only use 2-3 of the 4 threads your 6600k already has.

What does CEX actually sell that you can use your voucher on?
Do you have a link for them?

You will need a graphics card from somewhere.
It is probably best to use the £115 voucher towards something stronger than your old GTX1050ti.

H110 motherboard is not capable of sli.
Past that, sli may win fps benchmarks, but gameplay is poor. It is prone to screen tearing, stuttering and non support.

If your main usage is for gaming, replace the motherboard with one that is capable of overclocking.
The I5-6600K is an excellent processor and you have good odds of overclocking to 4.5 and higher.
As of 12/04/2016
What percent can get an overclock at a somewhat sane 1.40v Vcore.

I5-6600K

4.9 14%
4.8 38%
4.7 67%
4.6 87%

GTX1050ti is not a bad card at all. But, since you have sold it, I would assume you want something stronger.

Look for something three tiers higher on tom's gpu hierarchy chart.

That is likely a 6gb GTX1060 or better.
Anything less and you may not notice a big difference and be disappointed.

Hi, I agree with getting a z170 would be better. However, cex do not sell mothernoards, and their graphics cards are ridiculously priced (£290/$340) for a 1060 6gb, and i must use this voucher. Secondly, 1060s are too expensive used as well- i only have under £150 to spend, and a 750w psu, so i was considering SLI 770 or SLI 970, or saving a bit more for a used 480 8gb for £165.
