My friend who is new to pc gaming is looking for a new pc but only wants to spend a max of $400. I do not really know of $400 is possible considering how expensive all the parts are now but he is willing to give it a shot.
Nothing good for $400. $500 will just get you entry level and that's assuming you don't need everything like a copy of Windows and a monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Eximo :
What does this $400 need to include? Do you already have any parts that could be used?
There are some pretty cheap barebones AM4 builds possible. But if you need an OS, peripherals, monitor, etc then probably not within reason.
He already has a mouse, keyboard, monitor and the OS can be gotten fairly cheap all he needs is the pc itself.
At a $400 price point you're probably better off just getting a console if the system is only to be used for gaming. I am curious to see what AMDs upcoming Raven Ridge APUs are capable of though, which would probably fit in a $400 budget.
