Hello my British friends (I'm from Italy).
I have this notebook perfectly in order, this TP LINK M5250 portable router perfectly in order, with SIM card activated and detected. Everything seems to be fine, the router is connected OK to the computer BUT I HAVE NO INTERNET CONNECTION.
I have spent 4 days doing all the trials suggested by Internet sites, to no avail.
I have configured the computer and the router according to TP LINK instructions, nothing.
This bugs me. The router used to work OK until one day, without changing anything, it stopped giving me Internet connection. I tried other perfect notebooks, nothing. I tried Win XP, 7, 8 and 10 and Linux, nothing
I bought another router, TP LINK M5350, very similar, but the problem persists.
I am used to thinking that wioth computers there is always a solution but this time I am in a fix.
Can you help?
It would be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot and best regards

Solution
My dear British friends.
Thanks to you I finally solved the problem.
I went to the shop amnd they told me there was no credit on the sim.
It was as easy as that.
There will always be an England and England will bve free,
Thanks and best regards from Italy.
Us Italians are full of defects, the major one of which is that we are corrupt and thieves, but I like Italy because Italians are sociable and have a great heart.
I think that is due to the fact that having to live among unruly people they understand the defects in others and forgive.
Ciao

Are you sure the SIM is activated? If i tstops from one day to another is seems like it could be that the SIM was deactivated because of some reason. (contract run out, paiment did'nt went through)
I have had succes putting the SIM into a phone and back into the router. That somehow seemed to clear the problem for me at the time.

Yep, sounds like SIM activation is the problem.

I would go to the place you activated the SIM card and discuss the issue with them.

*Yes, you say it's "activated and detected" but how do you know that if there's no way to prove it?

Either way, a tech guy at the store may point you in the right direction.

I can't see it being another issue since you've changed hardware for both computers and the TP device.

Thanks a lot everybody.
Actually, I forgot to say that this router belongs to my she-friend and she took the sim out of the router and put it in her cellphone and she could read the messages. However, this afternoon I am going to the shop to ask them to check the sim out. Thanks and regards
