V-Sync On or Off

Hey everyone,

I would like to know if I should play with V-Sync on or off in games like PLAYERUNKNOWNS BATTLEGROUNDS, H1Z1, Assassin's Creed Origins... And why should I if yes or not.

What about particularly of CS GO?

BTW, I have a 60 hz monitor

Depends.

VSYNC prevents screen tearing, but adds lag. You should also not use VSYNC if you can't mostly sustain 60FPS as it will add STUTTERING (missing frames is like watching a "24FPS" movie with 1/24th frame, then 1/48th second frame so appears as stutter/judder) when you drop below 60FPS (though you can force Adaptive VSYNC per games).

Adaptive VSync:
start game the close (to add to list at top)
NVidia CP-> manage 3d settings-> .. add game-> (setting) -> save

For 144Hz monitors, you can use the "half refresh" variant of Adaptive VSYNC to cap to 72FPS. (this is for OTHER people or if you get a new monitor with no GSYNC support if NVidia GPU, or Freesync if AMD)

Now VSYNC turns off if you can't output 60FPS (to avoid added...

SHOOTERS are faster games so you should try running VSYNC OFF and higher than 60FPS if possible as the game will be more responsive. If screen tear is too bad then go back to VSYNC (or adaptive VSYNC).

So again, you should experiment with:
a) VSYNC ON
b) VSYNC OFF
c) Adaptive VSYNC

With AC Origins I would use VSYNC ON likely, possibly Adaptive VSYNC (one issue though is that CUT SCENES may have screen tear now since the software just sees it's below 60FPS on 60Hz monitor and disables VSYNC).
