I dusted out my computer with compressed air the other day and when I tried to turn it back on it went on off on off on off no boot would happen then after a while I just tried blowing around with more compressed air and it turned on but ever since it will randomly lose internet connection and at first disconnecting the ethernet cable and reconnecting it worked but today when I turned on my computer the internet was not working right off the bat so I tried the disconnect reconnect thing and it did not work but when I restarted my computer the internet was working again only to lose connection a couple hours later and again I had to restart my computer to get it to work. When this happens all other devices maintain internet connection including my other PC and phones. I wish I knew more so I could provide info about my specific computer but I literally just have a computer to play games with and have never needed to learn about anything techy along the way.

I read the sticky saying I need to provide a whole bunch of information about my computer to get help with this but I honestly know so little about computers I don't even know how to provide the proper information but I will try.

I have looked online about how to find system specs but I don't know what information is important so I will just provide everything on the system summary of the system information.

The modem says Sagemcom on it and the model I think is the Fast 5250 homehub 2000.

The powersource says Desert Fox Commander III on it....

I get my internet from Bell Canada. I am not sure what is meant by "connection type".
There are 2 computers, 1 laptop and 2 phones connected to the router.
There has not been a single error message.

It is a direct connection to my computer but when I google "how to find make and model of switches and how many ports are in each" I get nothing that I can use to find what I need to provide...

I am similarly not having luck googling about NAS vs regular server people talking about it but I don't understand what is being talked about.

As far as I know I am not using any kind of wifi router for this PC

I am just using the ethernet port that is attached to the motherboard.

I really hope that this information is enough to help me. Thanks in advance for anyone who tries.

Most likely culprit would be a bad ethernet cable. Do you have another cable you try using on your computer?

Sometimes the ethernet ports can fail, it's a possibility, but usually it's the cabling. The cable can get bent/pinched/twisted when a computer is moved or the cable itself is handled a lot.

Did you disconnect anything inside of the case while dusting? Did liquid come out of the compressed air can? If the answer is no, start with the easy stuff and work your way up. (Reboot computer/router, swap out Ethernet cable, update/re-install network drivers, etc...)

I didn't disconnect anything inside the case while dusting and no liquid came out of the can.
The Ethernet cable is only a couple months old and I don't have to move my case to dust it out.
I re-installed a driver just today after the internet cut out 4 times in 5 hours.
Restarting my computer is the only thing that seems to bring the connection back but that really removes my ability to play online games. Restarting the router doesn't affect it. I will post here again if it disconnects again after the driver re-install.
