Edit : got it working now it was a bad sata power cable
Don't forget that the Geforce 1070 cards should be ran at 65% of tdp and not full for mining due to being more energy efficient.

As mentioned on:

https://whattomine.com/
and
http://www.legitreviews.com/geforce-gtx-1070-ethereum-mining-small-tweaks-great-hashrate-low-power_195451

This reduces the maximum draw from 6 x 150 watts or 900 watts

To

6 x 150 x 0.65 or 585 watts

A 1200 watt power supply is more than enough for 585 watts in graphics cards + 150 (guessing) watts in everything else.

Having the correct plugs is important though.

"The 12VDC rail on Sata is rated for 45W whereas the 8-pin connector is rated for 150W
The GPU has no idea there's an adapter in there and that it's not cool to draw more than 45W. It'll destroy the PSU. Really, actually, blow it up. Do not even try!"

Copied that from another site, but he says it best.
https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/601435-sata-to-8-pin-connectors/

They also mention that it might be doable if you use a psu with a single rail mode, like that switch shows.

I would give Corsair a call before attempting.

This should have been said for the start.

If you start adding adapters to your rig to get stuff to work, each connector adds a small bit of resistance and wastes heat.

For a gaming computer nobody really cares.

But for a mining rig this added resistance and heat generation increases the amount of wattage the system uses.

Which reflects in higher running costs per kilowatt hour.

Some adapters like pci-e riser cables also increase resistance but they have an added benefit of increasing efficiency in other ways, such as not having to buy another computer/processor.

thanks derekullo i think i will give them a call and see cause if i run all six cards i don't have space for the cpu cable do you know if the cpu cable can be run from the peripheral & sata

^ no it can't , there's no sensible way to run 6 of 6+8 pin cards from that PSU.

You will have a spaghetti mess of 8 to twin 6 pin adapters which will only fit 5 cards at most anyway & you run the risk of melting cables & connectors .

This happened to a member a week or so ago with a seasonic x1250w.

As I said before you should have bought single 8 pin model cards.

Agreed.

Before spending $2400 on graphics cards make sure your power supply has all the correct connections for it.

^ yes you can do that , its probably a more sensible proposition in all honesty.

All that cable does is jump the power on connectors so both psu's will power up with the case start button.

The issue is here is the card models (& the sheer number of them) that you picked.
The hx1200 could probably 'in theory' power what you're running because generally a 1070 will top out at around 170w .
Your issue is based solely round those cards needing 6+8 pins on every card when really the power requirements are far lower than that configuration allows.
