My pc started to have troubles with booting 2 weeks ago. No screen, no bios, no beeps, nothing, after a few tries it finally booted and I got this message: '(a7) me fw downgrade failed' followed by 'error sending end of post message to me: heci disabled, proceeding with boot'. I tried to update the bios in the bios app but from the moment I loaded the bios file from usb stock I got a freeze. I did rename the file like it has been described.

I was able to boot again but only after half an hour of trying switching power on and off. I was able to use my pc just fine but the next day it lasted a lot longer untill it started to boot, like after 1 hour of trying switching PB on/off. But now a few days later, after hours of trying it just don't want to boot anymore. I tried a lot of stuff, disconnecting gpu, switched ram modules, bios battery reset,...the thing is I don't get a beep at startup either so I think my mb is screwed OR the bios chip is corrupt. I bought a new bios chip(cheap) from ebay yesterday with latest bios, it will arrive in a few days. Hopefully it will do the trick!

Maybe you guys know a lot more about the error message that I got when the pc still booted? Maybe it's something related to this? I had to manually switch off my pc as well everytime I shut down windows from the start button because the fans and leds were still on even tho windows was shut down.

I'm going to take out the mb now and see if it works without being installed into the case.

Thanks.
