PC crashes when playing some high intensity games but not all, usually after an hour of playing, Please help

My PC has been crashing for a while now, a few months or so, when playing certain games, like city skylines for example, it'll be happy for about an hour and then just crash, black screen, complete restart, like someone pressed the reset switch. I've checked through for the latest Graphics drivers and they're all up to date, didn't change a thing, and after following some tips from this thread: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2267621/gpu-crashing-overheating.html i've still got no idea what's wrong with it. I downloaded the MSI afterburner tool to monitor my core temperature of the GPU, it's standard temperature is at 55-60 degrees celsius with little to nothing happening, i even attempted to increase the voltage setting to see if that would fix it, it didn't do anything. this is a custom built PC and parts have been changed and fiddled with, but my PC has been doing this since mid august and i haven't a clue why. Please help.

My specs are:

Nvidia Geforce GTX 550Ti
16GB RAM
2x 1TB hard drives (one Samsung one WD)
i3-3250 Dual core 3.5GHz CPU
64-Bit Windows 7 Operating system

Thanks in advance

Gross. Generally speaking, sudden crashes are most often related to temperatures or power supply problems and given that you have verified the temperatures, that power supply is what I'd look to swap out next, hopefully to one of better quality.

Haha! nice appreciation of my PC specs there, yeah it's what came with the previous case, and i think i need a more powerful one anyway, but i thought i might ask for any other solutions just in case, i'm worried it could be something different and hopefully cheaper to fix, since i'm skint atm. but thanks for your input man, made me laugh

Not the whole PC, just the PSU! CiT, along with some of the more notable junk tier PSUs, like Kentek, Huntkey, Codegen, are essentially the Grim Reapers of the PC world, harvesting PC souls for the digital afterlife.

You got any ideas for a good PSU? roughly around 650-700w that's fairly affordable? also, haha, yeah i know you mean the PSU, don't worry.

You don't even need a 650-700! A good 450W would serve you just fine, 550W if you plan on making significant upgrades.

New platform, good build quality.
