I updated my Nvidia drivers to the newest version, 388.00 I believe, in order to get ready for Destiny 2 on PC. Before the update I was having the occasional error message "The Nvidia Geforce GTX 980M device is not removable and cannot be ejected or unplugged." But now after the update I am getting BSOD anytime I try to play Destiny or anytime I try to adjust graphical setting on my computer via the NVIDIA control panel.
I have attempted to reinstall the drivers multiple times and done a clean install each time after wiping the driver from my pc. The only way I have been able to fix the BSOD issue is by rolling back to 361.43, but then the issue is Destiny 2 isn't using the GPU to process the game, and I'm left with a stuttery, laggy mess.

Solution
Your graphics card is not supported with this driver. You need to go back a version.

Additionally, NVIDIA does note that 388.00 does not support Alienware laptops with GM204 GPUs (GTX 965M, 970M, 980M, and 980), and that support for these products will be added in the next driver.

Although I don't see where on the site it says that, seems to be true though as your Alienware laptop isn't working with it.

ed: found it,
[Notebook][GM204]: Alienware laptops with GM204 GPUs are not included in this
driver release. Support for these products will be added in the next driver.
