Last posted bios, Realtek ethernet drivers.

So today my daughter says the internet is down. Funny, I was posting at the time on wifi connection. So I look at the pc, and no network connection. Checked cables modem router, other pc, swapped ports, everything good. PC is now slower than molasses. No lights on mobo nic. Checked Device Manager, got dings on USB Host controller, USB controller, 8 different Wan drivers, Realtek Family GPE and some Lan drivers.
Being a pain to get, I have copies of downloads of the necessary drivers, so uninstalled the Realtek and reinstalled from fresh. That cured the Lan drivers, but nothing else. If I try to reinstall any of the other drivers, I get nowhere, either error driver not found or error wrong parameter.

Malwarebytes took an hour to finish, nothing, boots take 10minutes on ssd, restore points have vanished and I can't access my backups. Reset cmos did nothing.

Tried Google some help, first line on every WebPage says 'make sure you are connected to the internet'.....

Any ideas?

Solution
SSD has the requisite free space?
you can test the networking hardware by booting into linux on thumb drive and see if the hardware is working there in a fresh environment
