Dell Optiplex 380 + 8 GB DDR3 RAM

Is it possible that i add 1 more stick of 4 GB DDR3 RAM in my PC, because Dell Official says that Optiplex 380 can run only 4 GIGS, and a lot of people say that 8 Gigs are working fine for them?
And 1 more question: Can i combine 1600 MHz memory, with the 1066 that i have?

You can typically upgrade optiplex 380 to 8 gb of ram (dual 4 gigs). There is no guarantee the ram card will work together if there not from the same retail package. Combining speeds usually results in the slower of the two speeds if it happens to be compatible.

Increased memory capacity is often accomplished by a BIOS update. So i would suggest getting the latest BIOS from Dell. Crucial.com sells x64 memory modules which are known as low density modules.
