I bought a refurbished dell inspiron 5378 13" 2-in-1, i7 7500u, 8gb ram, 256gb ssd 20 days ago. It gets very hot with temp hovering between 95-100c at minimum load - watching only youtube video. The fan keeps running too. This seems like a faulty unit to me. What do you guys think? What are the avg temp you get with i7 7500u at low and high loads? I have only a week left of return window, so any quick help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Something is wrong with your cooling. You are thermal throttleing the CPU and I am surprised your system is not shutting down. Running at those high temps for extended periods of time can damage the CPU. As said above, check the heat sink and reapply thermal past. A 7500u should not get that hot.

I would consider taking it back it I bought it 20 days ago and I am getting 100C temps.

I would open the case up and make sure there is no dust in the stock heat sink blocking the air flow and if thats ok reapply thermal paste
