I was dumb and didn't research before buying my PSU...

I got a CoolMax 500W, which I NOW know was a huge mistake. My setup is brand new, and everything has been working great, except in the past week, I've been experiencing random shut downs. It got worse, to the point where my PC won't power on anymore. Assming it's the PSU after looking into the brand. It definitely was not an overheating issue; the shut downs actually never happened during gaming/heavy use.

My extremely silly question: Did I fry my mobo/anything else? Or is it just a dead PSU? I ordered a new PSU either way, cause I definitely don't want CoolMax within 10 ft of my computer, lol. Going with a SeaSonic 520W this time.

Doesn't seem like anything is wrong with your motherboard assuming what you say is correct. Your power supply probably isn't sufficient for your build. Your computer might have drawn too much power or either your power supply isn't plugged in correctly. Definitely replace the supply before anything actually fries.

Very true, I'll be sure to update this post once the new one arrives. Crossing fingers lol.

Update as promised: replaced the PSU with the better one, and everything works fine, nothing got fried! I know this could have turned out much worse so I'm very grateful that I only had to replace the PSU. Remember to always research before buying any computer part, don't be a dummy like me!
