ASUS STRIX Z370-I AURA issues

I just put together my new system with the itx STRIX z370 board. The lighting effects look great, but cycle through the entire RGB spectrum. I downloaded the Aura software but the board doesn't appear as a controllable device. Any thoughts?

From what I see, it may be it. It is some kind of Asus AI suite utility old error. Essentially, it is something like you have wrong version of the file installed, and that messes up everything. A couple of solutions were found, but they are more tied to Asus AI suite installation:

However, fixing it this way may be a lot of pain (as it may require changes in system registry). Since your build is new, simpler and faster way could be to make a clean Windows install. Then, make sure you try to install Aura downloaded directly from your motherboard support page, not form other place.

I do. HOWEVER, when I install the software, I get a message that says "Can't open AsIO.sys !! ( 2 )". I close that message and the install carries on. Could this be the issue?

can you provide a review on your motherboard? looking to get one myself but reading mixed reviews. I heard alot are having AURA issues but have you experienced anything else?
