Hello there,

Found a dead 780ti for 37 euros. I asked owner if he tried plugging it in and what does it show. He said screen doesn't turn on, fans working. Is it worth trying to buy it and use the oven trick?

What could be the reasons why it's dead? And would there be a way to fix it?

Unless you can get a hold of a machine that literally resolders the GPU to the PCB while also checking the components on the PCB for faulty components, then no, it's not worth the time or effort. You could however just buy it and have it on a shelf if you would like to showcase the component, like most YouTubers do these days.

There are a number of reasons why it could be dead. A brown out could be one. Bad/faulty PSU could be another. Leaked AIO on GPU could be another...and so goes the train of speculation.
