Hi guys,

Recently upgraded to an ASUS B350 Plus mobo, Ryzen 5 1600, and DDR4 ram 8 Gig.
Old hardware: FX 6300 cpu, DDR 3 ram. I don't know my old mother board model. I know it's an MSI board. mATX form
Running an XFX R9 270x for GPU and EVGA 500w 80+ bronze for PSU.

After installing the new parts, my computer won't turn on. No fans running, no display, nothing. I've ran through everything I can troubleshoot:
reconnecting cables, re-installing components, etc

At first I thought it would be the front panel connectors (Power Sw). I read the manual and connected as it stated and still get no power.

I have not tried the screwdriver method. Can anyone confirm if this is safe?

What's weird is that the motherboard lights are on if the PSU power is on, so that means it's a good sign, no?

Does anyone have any idea what's going on and can help me out? =(

Solution
Check if you haven't left an unnecessary standoff under motherboard. If old motherboard had different standoff setup, and you forgot to remove them, they could be causing short.
Screwdriver method is safe - as long as you don't touch wrong pins.
Remove all components except CPU and its cooling. Try starting. If no change, it might be DoA motherboard. If it starts, start adding components back one by one, and test after each to find out what is not working.

The standoff could be the problem, did not think about that. Will try both things when I get home.
Thanks!
