So here are my specs:

CPU: AMD FX-8320 @3.5 GHz
CPU Cooler: stock
GPU: MSI GTX 950
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3
HDD: WD 1TB
SSD: WD 250GB
PSU: EVGA 550W
CPU Case: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/xCsKHx/nzxt-case-cas220wb1

I've had this computer for a couple years and at the time I didn't know much about computers at all. I'm now at the point where I want to upgrade, and I realized that this CPU (I believe) is the best one that can run on this mobo, so I'd have to buy another cpu and motherboard, which is a lot of money. The GPU isn't too great for games now either, so I'd have to buy another one as well. My first question would be, is this the best cpu that can run on this mobo, or would I need to upgrade. My second question is about my CPU case and cooler. I'm thinking about getting a CM Hyper 212 Evo for my CPU since I'm starting to get into the 70 Celsius range, when it's under load. I'm worried that it won't fit in the case because it's so tall. Could anyone tell me if it would fit, or maybe suggest another one like it, that's smaller? Thanks so much

Solution
Cheapest upgrade -> get evo 212 cooler for ~ $20, and get a GPU, 1050 ti ~$150,
and overclock CPU. For upgrade to CPU, get Ryzen 3+ / B350 MB / ddr4 ram combo for ~$250+ in the future, also Zen2 is coming.

If you can afford more on the GPU, 1060 6gb is ~$250, better but not as cost-effective as 1050 ti.

thanks so much! I figured I could fit the 212 evo. I didn't expect the 1050ti to run as well as it does in that video! shows how much I really know lol
