I was going to update my bios today so I downloaded the update for my specific board, and put it on my USB drive. I restarted my computer and entered the bios and clicked enter flash mode. It said the computer would restart and enter flash mode. The computer restarted and it has been running with a black screen since. I haven't done anything with it to ensure I do not mess anything up. Any help is appreciated.

Why update? Was there a problem or instability?

If there's no problem that requires a BIOS flash and the board is functioning an update is not recommended as it has a slight risk of problems like this and bricking the board esp. on boards that are not dual BIOS.

If it restarted with USB in port and is black it could a number of reasons. The USB file system is not FAT32. The BIOS file is not in the root folder of the USB stick. The BIOS file is the wrong file for another BIOS or board.

The manual on how to update BIOS on MSI website does not specify file system of the USB and whether it should go in any special USB port (as is the case with some motherboards from other brands/models).
