i got 2x4 mb single channel memory (ddr4, no a z150 chipset board). board says i must install memory chips in pairs.

but i just noticed i asked the store for DUAL channel and they gave me single channel memory. i had no glasses i couldn't read the tiny print.

my QUESTION is: does dual v. single make a difference in SPEED if the motherboard requires memory be installed in pairs?

(if not, then they shorted me $40 per say, and i should return it and get what i asked for)

thanks very much if you can answer for sure!

Yeah that advert is wrong

Should read

8GB DDR4-2133 PC4-17000 CL14 Single Channel Desktop Memory Module x1

Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB 2 x 4GB DDR4-2400 PC4-19200 CL15 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit

Assume you got the hyper x ???

thanks for helping!

i'm going by what the microcenter ad says:

8GB DDR4-2133 PC4-17000 CL14 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Module x1

(note: that's a single memory slot, one memory card comes in box)

Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB 2 x 4GB DDR4-2400 PC4-19200 CL15 Single Channel Desktop Memory Kit

(two chips came in the box)
