(Noob alert) I have an old PC with,

  • ECS G41 Motherboard
    Nvidia GeForce GT210
    4GB 1066MHz RAM
    Intel Core 2 Duo CPU @ 2.56GHz (LGA775)
I'm willing to upgrade it with a GTX 660 GPU will my machine bottleneck its performance. What are your suggestions? What should I buy/upgrade before that?

Solution
Yes it will be a bottleneck, but it will still be a lot faster than your 210. Did you already make sure your system can run that 660 with the power supply you have and will it fit in the case?

You can upgrade the system to a Core 2 Quad if you want better performance to match the video card without upgrading the whole system. And getting another 4 GB of RAM will help.
