If u ask my res i play at which is mainly 900p and sometimes 1080p and i would like to have my settings at high atleast with atleast 40fps sooo will this card serve me that my current cpu is i3 3210 ik its bottleneck but budget :( and my present card is really old its a radeon 6670 1gb and i want to play pubg :-; and my RAM is 16gigs btw ... i would probably upgrade in next 3 years as i would get my job by tht time ... with something better :)

Solution
if you keep playing on low resolution (900P) it will serve you well for 3 years. but I dont know if new games will support 900p or not in the 3 years to come.

your CPU is more than enough for 900P and GTX 1050 ti dont worry much.

No need for fear mongering if you're not quite sure what you're talking about. The only problems concerning resolution compatibility that we've had in recent years are from having either too high a resolution (some games don't scale well to 4k due to UI elements being designed for 1080p), or from having too wide an aspect ratio (triple 16:9/16:10, 5x1 portrait, 21:9 ultrawide).

900p is a bog standard 16:9 resolution, so unless future games decide to stop supporting 16:9 (this includes 1440p and 4k), then the possibility of this happening is less than 0.

To OP, a 1050Ti will be fine for your resolution, but by no means will it be any kind of future proof. The only kinds of setups that can claim anything of the sort would be triple or quad GPU builds. Just remember that your CPU will be what holds you back the most in CPU-heavy games like PUBG, and the only way you'll be able to get a decent boost in performance without spending a lot of money would be to try and find a used i7 2600/2700, which will work with your current motherboard and memory. A dual core just doesn't cut it for most modern large scale multiplayer games like PUBG, Battlefield, etc.

what fear mongering ? I just said what I am not sure of. and you dont know that for sure either. game makers could simply stop drawing low resolution textures in the future . has nothing to do with the Ratio of the screen.

and I told him it will work fine. there is no fear mongering here.

VGA resolution (640x480) has been around since 1987. Please show me a list of mainstream games that came out in the last decade that do not support this ancient resolution. I'm 99% certain that any such games can be counted on one hand, if they exist at all.

What I'm getting at here is that it is completely asinine to suggest that 1600x900 will not be a usable resolution anytime in the near future unless the entertainment industry, TV/display manufacturing industry and all independent content creators just die off instantly, and all existing 1080p or lower displays simultaneously explode in their users' faces. Support for the aspect ratio very much dictates whether or not a resolution will be supported as I cannot think of a single instance where a lower resolution was not supported (not quite the case with higher though as with 4k and some bad console ports).

Maybe you didn't mean to word it the way you did, but it seriously seemed like you were implying that in the near future, developers might decide to prevent their games from launching at 1600x900 (or lower than 1080p in general) for vague and arbitrary reasons.

I said "I dont know"

"I dont know if new games will support 900p or not in the 3 years to come."

this is simple English and easy to understand. ok ? I dont know and I still dont know. I did not say even "maybe"

please stop bothering me about something I never said , and stop pushing words into my mouth.

well i m also certainly sure that 900p wont be removed and texture doesnt interfere resolution 900p is 16:9 if it gets removed then 1440 4k all will be removed :p but yea thanks for knowing me that my specs is more than capable :)
EDIT: 900p isnt that of a low res its one notch down 1080p ? :p
