Is a 300W power supply enough?

Hi, I recently have been getting into more demanding gaming. So i thought it would be time for a upgrade on my Graphics card, my current card is a GTX 750ti. I was looking on getting, EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC GAMING, (https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16814487261)

I only have a 300w power supply and I have been searching online if it is a enough and I have seen different answers.

Specs:

CPU - Intel Core i5 2320
Power supply - FSP300-60EP(1)
Graphics card - GTX 750ti

I was thinking about bringing the pc to the guy who built it to ask him but thought I might be able to ask here.

That's not a very good power supply. 400W is recommended. If you're wanting to spend that much on a GPU you should also upgrade to a better PSU.

If you need recommendations please let us know your budget.

Well dang with that budget you could get a new CPU/Mobo/RAM setup.

I was looking at the Corsair PSU, My only concern was I wasnt sure if it had the right pin connections for the 1060, Do you know if it does?

Yes it does. The GTX 1060 SC only require a sinlge 6-pin PCIE connector. The Corsair CX650 has 2x6+2-pin connectors. So you would simply use one of the 6+2 pin connectors. The +2 will just be hanging off to the side when the 6-pin is plugged in. That's just the way it works.

Good question. What case do you have?

Also, I would prefer the SeaSonic 520W because it is fully modular, is slightly better quality, and is cheaper if you order on SuperBiz with the Halloween promo code. (as long as shipping isn't higher than what it showed me). But either would be just fine.

You know what I'm not sure why I even asked because the power supply you have now is the same size, standard 24-pin ATX power supply. It will fit.

*The fully modular will have less cables in the way is why they are better. Non-modular has all cables connected to the PSU, a lot of which won't be used. Fully modular means you only connect the ones you use. So if you don't want extra cables stuffed inside your case, get a fully modular. If you don't mind then don't worry.

As long as it is open for air to get in the intake of the PSU. Depends on whether you have a top or bottom mounted PSU slot and if there are air vents for it.

Then your PSU should have the fan facing down. If it were facing up it would have no ventilation right?

The mentioned Seasonic doesn't have OCP - Over Current Protection. I would take the Corsair CX as that has all the safety circuits installed.

M12II and S12II are the same unit, just one is fully modular the other is just semi modular.
