so , my windows installation got corrupted , so i did a backup on a friends computers of my HDD , then i formated it and reinstalled windows 8 , i updated the windows and drivers , we tried to transfer my backup files to my pc HDD (it was via sata) , after the "transfer" we put the hard drive back on my pc and the files transfered don't show up on my pc and it doesnt show that it used HDD space , but on my friends pc they show and it shows that it used HDD space , my friend its a litlle scared because its starting to glitch out a little bit and we don't know what to do

NOTE: my hard drive it's not bad nor my friends one
my pc's hard drive has windows 8.1 installed, and my friends pc has windows 10

Solution
The only workaround I can envision is this situation is for you to connect a drive (HDD, SSD, or USB flash drive if the latter has sufficient disk-space capacity for the files you want to copy), access the files on your friend's PC and copy them over to the drive you connected to his PC. Then simply transfer your drive with those copied files to your PC.
First of all what do you mean when you state you "did a backup...of my HDD..on a friend's computer." What does this mean? What kind of a backup? Did you just copy and/or move the folders/files you wanted to a HDD and then connected that HDD to your friend's PC? If you used some sort of backup PROGRAM that could explain the issue you're reporting.

when i copy the files from his pc , i can see the files , and that it used some HDD space, but when i disconnect the HDD from my friends pc and put it back on my pc the files doesnt show , like if i didnt copied anything nor it says that it used any space att all

i have a 1 tb 2.5 inch hard drive wich is my main windows drive on my pc ( a laptop) and my friend has a 1 TB WD caviar blue drive has a main drive too
