Hello, It has bee around a year since I built my desktop and I noticed that my FPS in games is much lower than what it used to be. I used to run league of legends at around 400FPS, and rarely would it drop bellow 200FPS. A year has past and I noticed that It's averaging around 120+. I checked my GPU usage via task manager and its only going up to like 10% tops, I'm worried that I'm not using my GPU to it's fullest potential. The only thing that has really changed over the past year is me download GeForce Experience for the GPU driver updates, optimizations, and shadow play. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

i'm not sure where you heard that, but it's complete 'fake news' :)

no, it's always best to download and install the drivers...
uninstall geforce experience. It has a way of butchering your FPS to give best quality. Once uninstalled, just reset your Nvidia driver settings to default from the control panel, and then try game again.

Your system is plenty powerful, and your CPU is well capable of driving the GPU without any bottleneck. Use something like HWMonitor and MSI afterburner to monitor your system. The Windows task manager is basic, and some times completely inaccurate.

I heard that you should keep your drivers updated using GeForce or you overall GPU quality falls or something like that could you elaborate

no, it's always best to download and install the drivers manually from the manufacturer's website. Nvidia in this case. Then do a clean install, which you select from clicking the customs install option. This completely uninstalls the old driver and does a clean install of the new one.

Geforce Experience is an eye candy, app for the uninitiated. It's a one click shop for 'optimising games'. Which does a poor job, often rendering some games (not all) unplayable, when they should play just fine. IMO it's best to set you graphics settings, firstly in game, and then you can trick around with the driver settings in the Nvidia control panel. Don't bother with Geforce experience.
