Ram support more than the spec sheet?

Can my msi g41m-p26 support more that 4gigs of ram? default bios...CPU Core 2 quad q9400,64 bit windows 10. If not can it be done with a bios modification?. Help me out even though this might sound stupid

According to official motherboard specs it doesn't support more than 4 GB. Nothing you can do about it.

g41 chipset supports upto 8GB of DDR3 RAM . But It is hard to tell about your motherboard bios. your best choice is to order the memory from a shop that accepts returns and try it out , there is a high chance it will work.

QVL for this motherboard contains one type of memory that allows 4 GB per stick (and has been tested to work with 2 sticks) - KVR1066D3N7/4G. Since the motherboard has two slots, you can have easily 8 GB of ram.

The G41 Chipset motherboards use low density memory. Major memory manufacturers have stopped making that kind of memory years ago.
