Installed Ram Not Detected

I recently upgraded my laptop from 4gb to 8gb by adding a sodium 1600mhz 1.5v ram to one of the slots. After rebooting and checking bios and task manager, the ram I installed isn't detected at all. I am sure that my ram is installed properly. My system came with windows 8.1 and I upgraded it to windows 10. My laptop model is Asus X552LAV-BBI5N08.

Memory manufacturers don't guarantee adding extra RAM will be compatible. Since the old memory has never been tested with the new memory, it is not guaranteed to work.

Workarounds for adding extra memory:
Lower memory clock speed
Relax DRAM timings
Increase DRAM voltage
Lower CPU multiplier
