I currently have installed 16g 2x8 ballistix sport ddr 4 3200mhz,i bought 16g of ballistix sport 2x8 ddr 4 2400mhz memory to add to the original 16.I thought the memory would come down to to the 2400mhz speed. The cpu won't even boot up with new installed with the original 16g. This is the kicker,I install the new ram by itself and it works just fine.I tested all 4 sockets on the motherboard and the new memory works in them ,so i know the sockets work just fine. I have a gigabyte gaming motherboard z130 -3 it holds 64g. I don't understand why the new memory will not work with the older memory. any help is appreciated. THX

The reason the four modules won't work together is due to differences in module characteristics, even if using the exact same part number. This is why it is not recommended mixing individual modules and not mixing separate module kits.

Ideally a quad channel kit should be used where all four modules within the kit have been tested for and guaranteed to be compatible with each other.

Could try raising DRAM Voltage in BIOS by 0.05 V, but don't exceed 1.35 V.
