Finding low density RAM for old P55 mb

Hi! I'm trying to find 16GB of RAM for an old Gigabyte P55-UD4 / i5-650 motherboard to use as a networked build box for compiling C++ code with gcc.

I can't figure out what RAM to get though. I've found via google that I need 4x4GB "Low Density" DDR-3 which is only available on sites like eBay, but it is very hard to figure out if a particular RAM stick is Low Density.

Does it have to be Dual Rank / 2Rx8, or is that only for 4GB sticks? Will all 2Rx8 4GB sticks work as long as they have the right speed?

I've read that the memory stick should use 16 256MB chips. Does the 16 chip requirement apply also to 2GB memory sticks (if I go for 8GB instead)? Are there 8 chip sticks that would work, and will all 16 chip sticks work?

By the way, I'm very poor and trying to upgrade the RAM very cheaply, because it is no use spending a lot of money upgrading such an old system. So I'm not really looking for places to buy new 4x4GB sets, unless they are cheaper than used modules on eBay.

Thanks, I already read that though, and it is still not completely clear to me how to know if a DDR-3 stick would work in the P55-UD4 or not. Especially since many of the sticks on eBay are from Corsair and others and have heatspreaders obscuring the chips, and it is often hard to find information about the memory organization.

Is "dual rank" the key? Do manufacturers describe that by any other terms?

The UD4 supports up to 2200Mhz. Were there every any Low Density 4GB RAM modules in that speed?

By the way I accidentally downvoted you, and I haven't been able to figure out how to remove the downvote, sorry!
