overclocking my gpu and cpu

watch the temps and increase the clock. once you are close to 1500MHz and not hitting the power limit - do the memory overclock.
As i mentioned above, watch the temperatures. and you might need to change the fan profile. this card will be very loud if seriously overclocked.

Assuming you are using monitor up to 1440p@100Hz you don't really need to upgrade anything. may be adding an SSD if you don't have one.
there should be no problem with the memory. though can't guarantee it will work on 3200MHz.
as for the overclocking, don't expect much for CPU. 3 phase VRM and 4pin auxiliary power will not take it far.
and overclocking 980ti + i7 with 500w OEM PSU is not a good idea for the long term IMO.

It's a very good PSU.
though as I mentioned above, I doubt that the MB will support the CPU overclocking. Even if it has the BIOS option, the power delivery to the CPU will not allow it to clock much higher than stock. at stock, the CPU is not pulling over 100w.
BTW, the max memory speed support is 2133MHz on this MB (unless HP hide something).
As for GPU, if you take the time and have good enough cooling (good case airflow and good GPU cooler) the card can pull 300 and may be a bit more under load.
so you are looking at ~400w combined extreme load which is not gonna happen in real life usage scenarios like gaming.
So to begin with, you don't need the new PSU right now. Though RMx 550w is an excellent one.

also i've been wondering about power limit of the gpu too should i go more then the limit ? I increased my gpu limit to 110% with msi afterburner, but when i stressed
my gpu it uses around 115 more then the power limit so is that safe ?
