Buying a new laptop and will but an nvme ssd for operating system.

Now for the secondary storage disk I have 2 options.

A. HDD
B. SSD

Will having a "double" SSD system be much faster?

Am I better to put the SSD in the laptop or have it external and transfer via USB 3?

Any body has experience with sytem with SSD operating system paired with SSD storage?

Speed. SSD's get slightly faster as they get larger. Not so you'd notice, but it is there.
Value. 250GB drives for ~$85 is hard to beat.
Size. 120GB for the OS and applications does run out faster than you might think. With a 120GB drive, you really only have ~85GB to actually use.

My desktop is ALL SSD.
5 drives.
A second internal SSD will be much faster in your laptop than an HDD or an external SSD.
1 drive for the OS and applications, the other drive for all your working files, games, etc.

The only issue is...does your budget cover a large enough SSD for your space needs?

250GB drives are highly recommended over 120GB.
