(Newb) questions about my Motherboard

Hello,

I'm a total newb when it comes to motherboards and knowing what supports what so forgive me if these are stupid questions. Will my 09WH54 Motherboard support Thunderbolt? If so does that mean Thunderbolt 1, 2 and 3?

Also, I'm wanting to get a PCIE card that has more SATA connections. If I get any Sata PCIE card will I get SATA III or do I only get SATA III with the SATA ports on my motherboard?

Not sure about supporting Thunderbolt. I took a quick look at the motherboard and it didn't have a Thunderbolt slot. For a PCIE SATA card your in the clear because you would have to actually look hard to find a place that still sells cards that only support SATA I or II. Pretty much everything is SATA III now.

Yes, your motherboard doesn't have anything to do with a thunderbolt card working or not except it has to have a slot available to stick the card in.

Yes, I assume thunderbolt cards just use PCI-E 1 slot. PCI-E 1 slots are small and they also fit into any of the other PCI-E connections and work as a 1 slot.

bought a PCIE SATA III card. I tested the SSD drive speed via my USB 3 dock before I put it in my PC and with the USB dock the write speed was at 360 MBS. Once I plugged the same SSD into the SATA III PCIE card the speed is down to 325MBS. Why is that?
