CPU cooler pressing against side panel, will this be an issue?

As the title states, my cooler is pressing against the side panel slightly, exerting a small amount of pressure. I have a new fan on the way that'll fix this problem (it's thinner, so the ram won't push it up towards the case like this one). Just wanna know if it's safe to have it pressing against the case for the next few days while i wait.

I would just run with the side panel off until the new fan comes. I do not want any extra pressure on the CPU socket.

Yea that's probably not a bad idea. Would dust be an issue if i left it off for a few days? Or is that a short enough time that it doesn't really matter?

is it the fan or the cooler itself. a lot of time people turn the cooler 90 so that the thinner side faces the side of the case.
